In a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, adults with mild cognitive impairment took around 3 g daily of Lion's Mane fruiting body powder for 16 weeks and showed improved cognitive scores compared with placebo. Scores declined again after supplementation stopped (Mori et al., 2009).
A study in healthy older adults reported improvements across several cognitive measures following oral intake of Lion's Mane (Saitsu et al., 2019).
A double-blind pilot study in young adults found small improvements on specific tasks but no consistent overall benefit (Docherty et al., 2023).
