Ginseng ist ein pflanzliches Präparat, das aus den Wurzeln amerikanischer oder asiatischer Ginsengpflanzen gewonnen wird. Die wichtigsten Wirkstoffe der Ginsengwurzeln sind Polyphenolverbindungen, die als Ginsenoside bezeichnet werden. Aufgrund seiner antioxidativen und entzündungshemmenden Eigenschaften können Ginsengpräparate den Blutzucker- und Cholesterinspiegel senken, das Energieniveau erhöhen und die kognitiven Funktionen verbessern1. Erste Forschungsergebnisse zeigen, dass Ginseng nach einer achtwöchigen Behandlung die erektile Dysfunktion und die sexuelle Leistungsfähigkeit verbessert2.
