L-Leucine is an essential branched-chain amino acid found in foods like eggs, cheese, legumes, lean meat, or seeds, and it helps build proteins and muscles in our bodies. Scientific studies show that leucine promotes muscle growth, especially in older individuals, reduces inflammation, and stabilizes blood sugar levels. 1. A 2022 study showed that when healthy elderly individuals took leucine-rich supplements for 12 weeks and combined them with resistance exercise, they had a more significant increase in muscle mass and lean body weight, than with exercise alone.
