Als eeuwige optimist heeft Dexter de unieke gave om zelfs in de slechtste situaties een positieve kant te zien. Zijn leven is allesbehalve gewoon geweest, van zijn jaren in Zuidoost-Azië tot de late nachten in het laboratorium op zoek naar de geheimen van kankermetabolisme. Dexter is altijd een avonturier in hart en nieren geweest, en deze mindset heeft hem ertoe gebracht voortdurend de mysteries van de wereld te verkennen. Wanneer hij niet bezig is met lesgeven, coachen, onderzoek doen of creëren, houdt Dexter ervan om actief te zijn en aan sport te doen. Als onderzoeker heeft hij publicaties over fytochemicaliën, supplementen, metabolisme en oncogenese op zijn naam staan.
