What our customers say about us:

    Where Does Curcumin Come From?

Curcumin is a natural compound found in turmeric.  It comes from the plant of the Curcuma longa species particularly the Curcuma longa Linn. It has long been used as traditional medicine in China and India. This plant is cultivated and grown in warm climates in many regions in the world.

Curcumin is extracted using methods like solvent extraction (using ethanol or acetone), supercritical CO2 extraction, based
extraction, or steam distillation. These techniques separate curcumin from turmeric, and further purification may be performed to obtain a concentrated extract for various applications.
