L-methionin je esenciální aminokyselina obsažená v potravinách, jako jsou fazole a ovesné vločky, maso a mořské plody nebo vejce a mléčné výrobky. Vědecké studie prokázaly, že methionin zlepšuje zdraví kostí, inzulinovou rezistenci, fibrózu a zánět.
