Ashwagandha

  1. A new study by Leonard et al. (2024) investigated the impact of Ashwagandha supplementation on cognitive function and mood.   4. Pérez-Gómez et al. (2020) conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis, revealing the positive effects of Ashwagandha on VO2max. This suggests potential benefits for individuals aiming to improve aerobic capacity and cardiovascular fitness.

  9. Gopal et al. (2021) conducted a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, revealing that Ashwagandha root extract effectively alleviated climacteric symptoms in women during perimenopause. This suggests its potential as a natural remedy for menopausal discomfort.

GABA

  1. In a 2003 study by Inoue et al., 39 patients who suffered from mild hypertension drank milk enriched with GABA over 12 weeks. Already after week 3, they noticed a significant decrease in blood pressure, that remained consistent throughout the rest of the testing period. 
  2. In a 2018 study by Byun et al., 30 participants who suffered from insomnia took 300 mg of GABA daily for 4 weeks, and noticed a significant improvement in sleep efficacy. 
  3. In a 2006 study by Abdou et al., 13 participants were given 100 mg of GABA, and their brain waves were measured after 3 hours. GABA had a significant relaxing and anti-anxiety effect, as well as increased amounts of immunoglobulins in their saliva, which meant increased temporary immunity. 

L-Theanine

  1. Hidese et al. proved that taking 200 mg of L-theanine for 4 weeks significantly reduced stress and anxiety symptoms and improved cognitive function and verbal fluency. 
  2. Giesbrecht et al. showed that a combination of 97 mg of L-theanine and 40 mg of caffeine reduced tiredness and improved alertness after 20 and 70 min of taking the supplements.  
  3. In a 2012. clinical study, Yoto et al. showed that taking 200 mg of L-theanine for a week significantly reduced blood pressure and stress.
