Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), also known as the “Mushroom of Immortality,” has long been valued in traditional herbal medicine. It is renowned for supporting overall well-being. Research suggests that Reishi may help modulate the immune system by supporting innate, humoral, and cellular immune responses. Clinical studies indicate that Reishi β-glucans may help maintain healthy immune cell populations, contributing to the normal function of the immune system.
Rich in naturally occurring bioactive compounds such as polysaccharides and triterpenes, Reishi can be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle. This product is a food supplement and should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet.
Take one capsule with water in the morning and one to two capsules at night. Suitable for daily use.
Do not take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you take anticoagulant or antiplatelet medication, speak to your doctor before use.
A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial gave 157 healthy adults either 200 mg of Reishi beta-glucan or placebo daily for 84 days. The Reishi group showed statistically significant increases in CD3+, CD4+ and CD8+ T-lymphocyte counts, NK cell counts and serum IgA compared with placebo, along with greater NK cell-mediated cytotoxicity (p = 0.026), and was well tolerated throughout (Chen et al., 2023).
A double-blind trial in older women taking 2000 mg of Reishi dry extract daily for eight weeks found increased lymphocyte proliferation under stimulation, altered T lymphocyte gene expression, and a shift in T cell populations that the researchers described as a predominantly anti-inflammatory effect (Iser-Bem et al., 2024).
