Cholecalciferol (D3) is a type of vitamin D, and the one your skin produces naturally from sunlight. Vitamin K2 is a subgroup of vitamin K that is produced by bacteria and found in fermented foods. A combination of vitamins D3 and K2 is ideal for supporting immune, bone, teeth, muscle, and heart health. D3 enhances calcium and phosphate absorption from your intestines to the blood, while K2 helps guide calcium into the bones and away from arteries. This synergistic action helps support both your skeletal and cardiovascular health, and it is an ideal combination to take every day. The usual daily dosage for maintenance is 1000–2000 IU (25–50 mcg) of D3 and 100–200 mcg of K2. As they’re fat-soluble, it helps to take these vitamins with food.
