Od kod prihaja resveratrol?

Resveratrol je polifenolna spojina, ki jo najdemo v rastlinah, nekatere izmed njih pa se uporabljajo v medicini. Prvič je bil izoliran iz rdečega grozdja na Japonskem leta 1939. Dokazano je, da ima resveratrol številne zdravstvene koristi, vključno z anti-agingom, nadzorom holesterola in zaščito pred srčnimi boleznimi.

  • Edinstvena molekula resveratrola nastaja v sadju, rastlinah in zeliščih, ko so napadene s strani bakterij, gliv ali drugih okoljskih stresorjev.
  • Resveratrol je naravna spojina, ki nastaja v rastlinah. Najdemo ga v kožici grozdja in v koreninah japonskega dresnika (Polygonum cuspidatum), ki proizvajajo resveratrol kot odziv na stres.
  • Resveratrol se nahaja v živilih, kot so grozdje (vključno z izvlečkom grozdja, ki se pojavlja v rdečem vinu), arašidih, borovnice, brusnice in temna čokolada. Prav tako je prisoten v rastlinah, kot je japonski dresnik.

Glavni razlog, zakaj lahko uživanje teh živil izboljša vaše zdravje, je vsebnost resveratrola. Prehranska dopolnila z resveratrolom so še ena možnost, kako zaužiti priporočeni dnevni odmerek te neverjetne hranilne snovi!

  • Japonski dresnik (Polygonum cuspidatum) se že stoletja uporablja zaradi svojih zdravstvenih koristi. Pravzaprav so korenino te rastline Indijanci uporabljali za zdravljenje ran in okužb.
  • Japonski dresnik raste v naravi v številnih državah, vključno s Kanado in Združenimi državami. Je trajnica, ki lahko zraste do 6 metrov visoko, s stebli, ki so votla in škrlatno rdeča, ko so mlada, kasneje pa postanejo zelena.
  • Resveratrol najdemo v številnih živilih, ki jih uživate vsak dan. Živila, ki so bogata z resveratrolom, vključujejo:

    • Rdeče vino
    • Jagodičevje (zlasti brusnice)
    • Vinsko grozdje in grozdni sok
    • Črno grozdje, rozine in ribez (ista kategorija kot borovnice)
